Do Alfa Romeo have the best looking range??
Discussion
I find myself rather disappointed.
My personal lease on our 9-3 Saab cabrio is coming to an end in November. We love it. It was her dream car for many years and earned me a million brownie points (which I am still spending!)
One option is to buy it, just as it comes out of warranty with all it's expensive bits and pieces to go wrong and a company going down the tubes.
The other is to find something else that is stylish and interesting and take a 3 year lease.
So far, after looking at every car we see on the road, and hours on car company web sites the Alpa range is standing out as WAY ahead in terms of design.
I'm feeling particularly drawn to a Giulietta right now, but could go for a Mito for SWMBO and perhaps a nicer toy for me (thinking 996).
When did all the other car companies become so damm bland or am I missing something? And I suppose the question is....will I love an Alfa??

agreed. Followed a MiTo yesterday and it does a good impression of a bullfrog. The Guilietta is better but neither as interesting as the Saab.
I think I'll need to drive the Guilietta for a couple of days. The Saab is the latest face lift aero in black and whilst the basics haven't changed for ages it attracts way more glances and nice comments than you might expect. And of course I simply love driving it.
I do know what you mean about the MiTo but it's different at least.
Got to say as well that the alpha web-site and car configurator is real nice and very easy to use against the others. I looked at the Pug web site, thinking about the 308cc, but that's rubbish (the site, not the car).
I simply can't bring myself to get a blandbox.

IMO (and this really is just my opinion and i fully expect to get flamed for it) Alfas from the front? amazing. Inside? amazing, From the back? fking ugly.
the 156 sportwagon looks good enough mind you.
That's a little odd, I'd say that the worst angle for both Mito and Giulietta is from the front the rear three quarter is superb. 159 and Brera look great from most angles, the 156 is still one of the prettiest looking cars from any angle in my book. the 156 sportwagon looks good enough mind you.
I can't quite believe the OP mentioned the 308CC in the same sentence as an Alfa... or a Saab for that matter, the 308CC has to be simply the ugliest thing ever on 4 wheels, in my humble opinion of course.
I have driven the majority of the alfa range during my 9 months with my 159. This has been down to it needing work on various things (going in friday for pas) and without fail evry car I have had has had an error, or a fault or something's not worked. Most have more than one issue. So look great? Yes they do. Would you have one as a main car. No chance.

You have one as a main car, which rather scuppers your statement. What were the faults with the cars you drove? I find it astonishing the number of people who find fault with every Alfa they ever step foot in, when its something I've barely experienced both through owning them AND working with them.In answer to the OP: not any more in my opinion. The 159 looks gorgeous and the Brera is OK (but not as good as it could have been) but the MiTo and Guilietta both look pretty st TBH. The 8C is obescenely good looking, but they're hardly common enough to make up for the rest of the range.

Two car range now Symbolica Brera and Spider finished production a while ago, Alfa are no longer taking orders on new 159s either, its a strictly "while stocks last" affair. Which leaves us with the MiTo and Giulietta until the Giulia and 4C arrive.

Agreed, I've owned 2 Alfa's in the last 4 years ( GT & 156) and can't fault them, yes they had minor problems but none more than any other car IMO.I often find the folk that slate Alfas have never owned one.
I may be a little bias as I love Alfas!!

Even worse then Brera and Spider finished production a while ago, Alfa are no longer taking orders on new 159s either, its a strictly "while stocks last" affair. Which leaves us with the MiTo and Giulietta until the Giulia and 4C arrive.
A few years ago they had the 147, 156, GT & GTV and I would happily have owned any of them, but the current lot just leaves me cold. Even the V6 in the 159/Brera sounds pretty flat and uninvolving.
