There are plenty of older Audis, BMWs and Mercedes on dodgy estates

hehe

The epitome of council:

Bling bling tatty A8
Red centre cap outlining
Tesco Click and Collect
Can't be council - they couldn't afford one in the first place.
Yes they can. Its £4995 if i can remember correctly
Its still a £50k car when new with associated running costs. Purchase price is only a small part of it.
Besides most council estates I've seen have stty old Escorts and Focuses that only cost £500 littering the streets.
Well, the Watford area council areas are plagued with Mondeo new shapes, Focus new shape, Fiesta pre facelift and Discos.

Must be a better 'class' of council estate down there then!

Why do people regularly trot this st out?

A 10 year old Audi ain't going to be serviced at the local main dealer, it will be looked after by a mate of a mate who knows a bit about cars for a cash payment with parts sourced from the local scrappy.

Brunette (first pic) or blonde (last pic)?

I checked the brunette out but would have to go blonde based on the limited information provided by the two photos.
I'm with Ian on this one - brunette looks lovely, but blonde looks like much soooo much more fun. I'd happily bounce around on that chassis all day long.

Mine won't be. It's in good nick, apart from the arm rest between the two front seats being broken.

Mine won't be either. It's done by a good Indy. No scrap yard parts.

From experience.
If you look at my garage you'll see I run a 22 year old Merc SL. Just because it cost under £10k doesn't mean the parts are cheap. New roof seals - £700+, engine wiring harness - £800 air intake trunking £30, a 2" long rubber breather hose - £12. Even used parts aren't cheap - used locking pump - cheapest is £160, used sunvisor £150, centre console lid - £100+ - you get the idea.
They were expensive when new and parts were priced accordingly.

I ran an Audi A8 for several years. Front suspension arms are a regular wear point. There are 8 @ £40 - £100 each (and they aren't genuine ones). Expect a set to last 30k miles at most. These high end vehicles are relatively low volume so parts are comparitively rarer when you compare to bog standard fare like Mondeos, 3 Series, Passat, Golf. Thats part of why they aren't cheap to run.
Add in higher insurance (because they cost a lot to repair as the parts are so dear coupled with aluminium panels and structures in the A8) and thats why its mentioned.
