It's an interesting proposition, I'll give it that. I hope they have researched their target market too.
Powerful N/A engine - check
Light chassis - check
Sweet transmission - check
Looks like a winner - check
Not out of this world expensive - check
British - check
Great engineering / build quality - check
Designed for pure joy / owner indulgence - check

Compliant on british roads - big check (and tends to be low on the priority list of many manufacturers in my book). The ultimate driving / rewarding car for me has to be compliant on the road as well as track to make the most of the limited funds I have / could warrant going towards something like this.

This car is probably top of my wanted / just about reachable in my lifetime to own list! It's filled the 'higher budget section' as there wasn't anything realistic for me above a GTR for value / performance (other than lottery win classics and marginal porker specials)

BAC Mono
Nissan GTR
KTM Xbow
Caterham CSR
Ducati

Well done BAC on producing such an epic car and for having the ballsy determination to put so much into it.

I can't even imagine how great it must be to drive...and can only hope that there'll be opportunities to rent for track use in the future. Best of luck to them!

The more I read, the more I like. I was only very recently made aware of this. Anyone know how many they're making.

I have E-mailed them expressing an interest but as yet have not heard back anything.

Cheers,

I've had someone contact me. I'm 80% of the way to putting down a deposit on Monday. That would get me a car May/June next year. I'm going to go up an see one in the flesh before I commit to a further payment and a build slot

Streetrod me old china. How goes it? You still on the prowl for a Zonda? I'm going up to see the BAC factory next week. Happy to have some company if you fancy it? I have to confess, the green is my favourite but then you already knew that what with you being my evil twin wink

LFB,

Pleasure doing business with you... I trust James looked after you well?

I have to agree with StreetRod though you are a very fortunate man. The Mono is going to make a great addition to your stable and when you see it in the body you are just going to love it! We will have to make sure we see what there is we can do to make sure you get a nice early car.

Many thanks for the business.

Tom

It did take them a while to respond to me too but not a week. By the time they did, I had already been contacted by Supervettura via PH. I'm sure now you've posted here, they'll be in touch shortly.

Tommy, please feel free to send me a referral fee wink

Thanks! - How about lunch on us when you are next visiting. It would be great to catch up and celebrate your purchase of another fine motorcar…

Had a look in my email and it's "only" 5 days since... It feels always much longer if you wait for something. I'm sure they'll contact me in the next days.

Hi Brem,

James our Sales chap will be in touch with you tonight re the car, he knows all about it and will be able to answer any questions you might have. It would be great to invite you into the owners club and I hope you will be as suitably impressed as the other people who have decided to go with the Mono.

Any issues just let me know.

Thanks,

Tom

LFB, I spent about an hour with the BAC Mono at the FOS earlier in the year much to the amusement of the young lady looking after it, and I have to say it comes closest to F1 quality engineering as I have ever seen on a road car. The suspension is a work of art where pure function has produced a beauty all of its own. The machining is as good as anything I could produce, and I'm pretty good if I say so myself wink

Nothing on the car appears to be unnessasary; it seems to stick to the classic form following function ideals you would expect of the best single seater race cars.

I would not be surprised if future owners badger BAC to start running a street driven race series, a bit like Caterham.

Done! It would be good to meet up. Once I've heard back from the factory about next week, let's put something in the diary for the week after.

I must have missed it!!

You certainly seem impressed. I'm really looking forward to seeing the car and meeting the guys behind it.
