3/10 - must try harder. Not enough variation in the expletives.

Job descriptions can make a big change on insurance policies – it may not just be an admin cost.

  • some of the following facts have been changed to protect the innocent.
My job is a Circus Elephant Consultant.

My insurance company (Admiral) didn't have that as an option, but they did have Circus Consultant, so I used that and got a quote of £600.

At the same time my girlfriend had been entering my details on Confused.com and got a price of £400.
But, she had used Elephant Consultant.

A quick chat to the fellow on the phone and a change of the job title and he offered it me for £400.

I'm not lying about my job, I'm just forced to adhere to their restrictive list and select what best fits. If two are equally fitting I'll have the cheaper.

Funny old world – but I'm £200 better off, so I'm happy.

It's an admin charge for making an amendment.

rofl So job title snobbery, where nobody can even see it, cost you £17? Brilliant!

The titles are so vague in many cases it's hard to imagine the insurance company could do anything even if it was significantly wrong. I mean, in either of those jobs you could be a Civil Servant - yet that's a job title in itself.
