I think I'm the only person in the UK who hasn't seen one yet.
No, but lots of people have.

Conclusion:

Op isn't the first person to see one in the UK

Other people have seem them:
  • On the road
  • Service stations
  • Shopping centres
  • Car transporters
  • Car shows
  • PH Car shows
  • "Official unveiling" type shows
  • Round their neighbours house
  • Even spotted in Birmingham!

What's the point of the little rectangular-ish "blip" at the top of the plastic wheel arch trim? It annoys me.
I agree. yes

Saw one on display near St Pauls in London and I noticed that too. It would bug me. But then I am a bit OCD.

Went and sat in one this afternoon. Fit and finish feels as quality as you would expect. Initial and overall impression is that it's very small! Similar in size to the Freelander 2, but appears smaller from outside.

It will sell like proverbial hot cakes.

"Launch"?
"Unveiling"?

I've seen about 5 of these driving around on the roads over the last 3 months, 5 and 3 door.
Assumed it had been out for ages.

It's purely design. It's there on the show car (LRX) too.

It's been doing the rounds for a while now, we even had one (albeit pre-prod) at our Sunday Service in March

Personally, I like them.
Funnily my new demo is exactly that but with a black roof.

Ahhhh, I feel a bit sorry for the OP. He thought he'd made it, that he was one of the chosen few, just him and 99 other lucky people about to get a world first glance......

Then we came along and shattered the dream tank

Suspected it was the latest must-have fashion accessory for the modern yuppie from the outset, lost all interest when I found out that the interior was designed by VB and that that was a marketing highlight.

Why is it that these ugly things are flying out of the showrooms like there is no tomorrow. If it had a Ssangyong badge on people would say it an ugly, useless p.o.s but because of a clever marketing ploy by Landrover by calling it a Range Rover and charging silly money people think they are bleeding amazing.

There's a lot of badge going on there.

It's aright but haven't Honda et al been churning out this kind of vehicle for a while now.

I think it looks great. If Ssangyong want to sell me a cheaper version, I'll take it.
