What would you recommend?

I know the Vectra VXR got slated on Top Gear, but that does'nt necessarily mean anything in the real world - Are they any good? They can certainly shift!

Likely to be an early or leggy one for £8k, but Becs has one and hers is a nice car to drive. Like most modern stuff, very anaesthetised up to 8/10ths, but with the Golf you suddenly realise when you're PROPERLY pushing on that it's got a good chassis hidden in there somewhere!
