I did have one of those 'moments' when looking out onto the test track from the first floor of Mercedes Benz World (standing next to Mika's F1 car) to see rain tumblin' down when.... oh! C**P!... I've left the roof down on the SLK!!
You were on the tour as well then? I was very impressed - even got my missus interested in the F1!

ps. Garlick - that TVR of yours sounds positively EVIL!!
Thank you, where did you hear it. Was I leaving?

Regarding the photographers, I believe they were from MB so I'll see if I can find out what they plan to do with them.

I made a bit of a cods up, i got back from abroad late on saturday night and slept in until 12 by the time the car was washed and picked up my friend, add some traffic down kings road and putney and I didnt get there until 230! to find 5 cars left frown oh well next time i will get there early

Nevermind, I did still get a passenger ride in the 300SL Gullwing for £10, that was one childhood dream achieved.

very impressed with the set up mercedes have there, even managed to get a look in the Concorde at brooklands museum.

I will post pics of some of the bits i saw there on my website -streetsupercars. Also Ive whacked up pics from the Porsche festival in the porsche catagories and also of Chelsea autolegends in various threads and will also have some vids up on youtube this week

Woop! The Jensen even gets a mention in the article... biggrin

Have to say, what were the chances of having an Interceptor Convertible and a Stratos parked side by side? 470 odd Stratos ever made, 509 Interceptor convertibles (and only 90 odd in RHD).

Thanks again to the PH boys, very well done. We'll definitely get along to more do's in the future.

Have to mention the epic journey'd Baja Bug and Stingray among my favourites, and it was great to see the Gullwing out on track!

What a fantastic day...honestly the best day I've had in years (I guess I don't get out much!). Came down with 2 friends in the good 'ol C63 and as soon as I got there, parking up I saw...hmmm...a Murcielago...wow that's great...NO!...It's a bloody AVENTADOR!!! Gorgeous I tell you.

I knew from there on "today will be a good day".

Later on I had an AMG experience in...a C63. OMG...what a car. I could not believe how cool the instructor was (if you are reading, Roger you are a GOD)... I was sideways round the WHOLE lap. As at the end of the day I got back into a (ahem) C63 I thought I was going going to wake up and find out it had all been a dream, it was just too good.

All you PHers I salute you. The various cars on display were awesome, and not just the outrageously expensive hypercars. The 205 GTI, the weird orange Honda, the 911s, the Mustangs, Garlick's TVR (an exhaust note from the depths of hades itself)...all fantastic.

The problem is...how can any future SS be as good as this?

was a good meet

I had a laugh and extracted the urine from myself with my mond-ohdear for most of the day

pretty decent my brother who lives in Crodon managed to get in with his bike as well - still it took up no extra space parked infront of my funbus

How did so many people hear my car? I was the first there and left at gone 13.00 with only a few cars remaining? I'm very pleased to read all the kind words (very pleased indeed), but it was poor form of me to leave before our guests!

So hands up who was stuck at the wrong end of Wellington Way, waiting for the barriers to open.
I was stuck there until Waugh-Terfall and others went the long way round and sent a text to say they were in.

Turned around and went the long way round, only to be met by the line of traffic that had been let through the gates.

Ended up about 2 places in front of my previous position.

I have some bits and bobs of the standing collection but nothing in high res, I do quite like the hanging 2.4 v8 by all the F1 cars on show though...
