I just really really dislike what they've done to the front of the new Focus. It looks, arguably, even worse on the ST version.

Still.. it looks as though it'll be a very entertaining (if somewhat less soulful than the 5 cylinder version) drive and most likely quite a lot more economical than the outgoing version!

I really dislike the styling of the new Focus in all it's guises, and this does nothing to change that.

Saw fords video about the steering system earlier. Not sure I fully understand it, so can't really comment. The idea of doing a U-turn without having to cross your hands over seems abit weird.

Nice seats but that's where it ends for me, I'll stick with the thirsty old one I have at the moment I think.

looking at the front it just seems abit deovid of any character. It's like they styled the ST, then gave it to some chav who was addicted to smoothing down everything/making it badgeless, such as that flat bonnet.

God what a step back from the old T5 2006 model. The outside is ugly and the dash has more buttons than the Starship Enterprise.

I fear for the alleged upcoming RS model. I cant see how they'll pull it off.

I blame Health and Safety - and the EU Eco b******s for killing off the interesting car market. Everything now is massive, expensive, small engined and fugly.

Whinge over. biggrin

Does very little for me, and I've loved recent generation STs.

It just looks like an older mondeo that's been barry'd up to me.

So the variable ratio steering - sounds like fun then? Computer game style steering, which is only kept in check by the ESP. Clever idea...

So would I based on a straight choice between the two. It looks rough and has lost the main attraction.
I can see it being quite price sensitive and if anywhere near the Golf it will suffer. The alternative POV would be buy a used Mazda MPS3 & save a fortune - now seem rather similar to me.

not a fan of the recaro's. look like theyve gone back a generation. prefer the ones in the current RS. other than that it looks ok, its progression cars change but this is one of the better of the bunch. 250ish bhp while still conforming to restictive emissions regulations is only a good thing

It's the lights at the back that ruin it. Looking at Volvos, I think the designer on the Focus probably did these as a rush job before he got sold off to the Chinese.

Ford tried their best to ruin the Focus with the mk2, but to be fair they've excelled themselves this time.
