As per the title really... I know you can use the Direct Gov website to check if a car currently has an MOT, but is there any way of finding out what advisories (if any) were issued?

I've tried the 'forementioned DVLA one and it just says 'test passed, certificate issued'.

(Thinking of going to see a car that's on the other side of the country, so want to make sure that the floorpan isn't riddled with rust or anything wink)

You'll need the MOT serial number & reg then it can be done online. Just google MOT history, rather than MOT status.

Take the certificate along to an MOT station and pay £10 for a duplicate, all paperwork originally issued can be printed with the duplicate. You'll need either the test number (top left of the certificate) or the V5c with you unless it is the station where the vehicle was tested.

I think you can do it with a chassis number as well.

Not sure about that...know it can be done with either MOT serial number or refusal number or even Document ref number from V5C.

Not sure about chassis number but you can use the document number on the V5.

Cheers gents.

Quite glad I persevered:

Nearside floor to sill Seat belt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded (5.2.6)

Strangely enough, the seller didn't mention that...
