Not at all, Terrible british build quality, awesome engine noise and great lines. I would!

Have to admit I love these. The size of them and the shape is lovely. But yes, the build is rubbish.

Last one I used to see regularly was a late black one - owned by a guy who used to run the 'Boathouse' pub in Shrewsbury. Sounded great burbling down Porthill cool

One of the cars I most enjoyed as a daily driver on long distances.

The engine was always a winner. But as everyone knows details like the trim falling off, sunroof flying off, paintwork being absent from the boot floor etc they were dreadfully built.

The full leather and air con Vitesse was still by far the best family car in design and driving ability. Superb cruiser, lovely car had four long ago.

I did suggest to the dealer that offering a trailer with the car to put the bits in as they fell off would be a good idea but he was already negotiating with Audi for a new dealership.

Another British car with a reputation worse than reality. I have one (it's 26 years old now) and has run faultlessly for nearly 10000 miles in a little over a year and out in all winds and weathers. It's little different to buying any car that's as old as that, and indeed little different to buying any car. If you spot stuff that needs sorting out then sort it out and it'll be fine. Drivetrain is bombproof if cared for. Bodies do rust just like almost all cars from the mid 70s, so when you see a bit, sort it out. It's frighteningly easy to work on and most parts are dead cheap.

There are quite a few dogs out there. If you buy one it'll cost you, if you don't then it won't.

Club support is first class too.
