The Gembella is a crazy beast indeed, seen it many times in the flesh and its crazy quick. 1 of only 5 full Gembella 993 conversions as i understand it.
Here's a great pic of it being driven in anger at Spa

Yep, I think I'm in agreement with you there. If I had to have a 993 era turbo it would have to be the GT2. It's an official Porsche car with geniune racing heritage, almost as quick and can be modded to be quicker if required, has just much kudos and looks better IMO. so how does that differ from a "official" RUF...if RUF did the work surely that makes it what it is?
sorry I'm not a RUF fanatic so please pardon my ignorance ...
my knowledge of RUF (and what they do to a standard Porsche) is along the lines of "all they do is slap a few go faster bits on and throw a bodykit at it"
feel free to educate me
Not at all. Think more AMG for Porsche.sorry I'm not a RUF fanatic so please pardon my ignorance ...

They also do rebuilds, restoration and bespoke work.
AMG, Alpina, Ruf etc (and oddly Quattro GMBH) are all a result of an oddity in German law to do with Vin numbers and the point at which a modifier becomes a car maker. I think tax brakes also have something to do with it.

Looks tasty but massively overpriced!
The Turbo S is a good car once you've sorted the inherent handling issues, but this one seems very expensive, maybe why it's been for sale for ages.
Couldn't see myself with the Gemballa, it looks awful, totally agree with the GT2 comments and fancy bolting the arches onto mine if I can work out what to do with the arch scoops.

That said, not sure I'd really want to use that GT2 on the road, road-legal or not. Probably not a pleasant experience...
