"I didn't see your car it was too low", that's what the person who hit my car said.

The icing on the cake is she claims she couldn't have caused damage to my car as she only "tapped" me.

The end result is a new bumper, light cluster and exhaust repair is needed.

It was caught on cctv, apologies for the bad quality video

I am still struggling to see how on earth she managed to hit a car with that much space?!

EDIT: Can a mod please remove the extra "t" at the end of didn't lol

Excactly why a lot of work space/site car parks are reverse park only.

Does the person who hit your car make a habit of blaming everyone and everything but themselves, for, well, everything?

I imagine so. It's sad how common it is that people can't admit their own incompetence.

The one positive thing is I'm glad she didn't drive off.

Had this happened in a supermarket car park I reckon most people would have driven off.

Still gutted though, honestly it nearly brought a tear to me eye when I walked out to my car yesterday.

Is she vertically challenged? Probably has trouble seeing out through the steering wheel as well.

I didn't realise it was going to be a Vectra and an MX5, I assumed a 4x4 and Caterham or similar. She would have been able to see the car in the door mirrors but I doubt she's ever actually used them! This will be why parking sensors are now so common I guess and if it saves people like her crashing into me then I'm all for them.

Did you have to use the CCTV to get her registration or did she stop and admit it straight away?

Maybe she should admit she wasn't using her damn mirrors... as that's the only way you'd have not seen your MX-5!

That's what is so ridiculous about her saying she didn't see my car.

She's either not used her mirrors or badly misjudged the size of her car.

She actually came in and asked if "the owner of a silver mx..."

I jumped in and said it was mine immediately thinking the worst, afterall she wasn't coming in to congratulate me on my car choice biggrin

So as I said I'm grateful that she came in, but I think part of that is because she's a client of ours.

It was a woman, so quite possible.

Yes, I know there are women out there who don't blame everyone else for every mistake they make, but there are also plenty who do...

Exactly, I'd imagine it would be the childs fault too.

Whenever I'm in my car I always try and be aware of my surroundings, but I see lack of proper checking daily, the amount of people that don't check their blind spots and seem to cross over into my lane on the motorway until I beep my horn is shocking.

I had someone pull out on me on a roundabout when I was driving my Elise causing me to do an emergency stop. It was around October and the bottom inch or so of her window was misted up, she put her window down, noticed me and just said "oops, sorry". It could have been much worse just because someone hadn't demisted their car properly..

The issue I'm having now is she's denying that she did that damage, apparently my car was damaged before and her "tapping" me could not have caused that.

Stupid cow, she just didn't look behind her at all.

I can't believe she is denying it, luckily that CCTV should help the insurance settle in your favour.

I wouldn't worry about that, it's going to be hard for her to argue with the video especially as it shows your car moving at the moment of impact.

Do you think it's possible that other damage other than what is superficially visible could have been done due to the fact my car moved e.g anything linked to handbrake etc
