Do you think it's possible that other damage other than what is superficially visible could have been done due to the fact my car moved e.g anything linked to handbrake etc
No, not at those sort of speeds. The bumper, and the brackets that hold the bumper off the car.pops and bangs said:
"I didn't see your car it was too low", that's what the person who hit my car said.
If she was just using her rear view mirror and not the wing mirrors then I could see where she's coming from - the Vectras are quite high at the back. Looking at the vid again, I think your car would be in her blind spot as she turned the wheel too?Doesn't excuse her not checking what's about in a car park though.

Nice of her to tell you, after driving into your car, she noticed some pre-existing damage.
Exactly, she fails to see my car but she miraculously seems to have seen the "existing damage" to my car before hitting me.Looking back at the footage is it just me that thinks she should have started turning much earlier?

Ah ok thanks, that's good to know, my paranoia set in and was concerned that there might have been something more, the last thing I want is the bumper etc to be repaired and something goes unnoticed that they don't think to check. We had the same thing happen to our MX5, by a woman in a megane scenic. She said she saw it before she got in the car, but then looked in the mirror, saw it was clear and reversed straight back into it. Fortunately I was actually looking out from the house we were in at the time and could stop her driving off.
OP - it's time to get the Police involved.
She'll claim the damage wasn't hers and before you know it months will elapse without the car getting fixed.
Involve the Police, be completely ruthless and stop at nothing to win.
I have been through this and it is maddening, it does you absolutely no favours to be reasonable.

Had a nice lady reverse into me whilst in the Cerbera on a junction. One minute she was going right and the next into reverse for a better angle to go left and bang. "I didn't see you", was her comment but one look at her child in the back and it dawned how bad it could have been by not looking.
By the time I got home, made a coffee and sat myself down my mobile was ringing. She admitted everything to her insurer and they were now ringing to sort everything out. From bump to completion of details in less than 60mins. I even sent her a thank you text for dealing with it so quick.
Was hit in uxbridge on a traffic light controlled and white lined indicated roundabout. Police involved as a witness plus CCTV and that one took over a year to sort out with the insurance company.
