IIRC that one is quite special as it was one of the last pre-production cars used to sign-off the Escort Cosworth programme. Admit it looks great in yellow too.The article gives the false impression that Ford have been stashing away all this stuff since the begining..........whereas....... it's mostly been put together during the past 20 or so years.
Back in the early eighties the offical Ford historic collection was barely half a dozen cars, comprising FEV 1H, that GT70, the (then green) first GT40 road car, the replica Monte winning Zephyr and a couple of other cars..... and that was it. And Ford UK's top brass were less than interested in them, and it was individual senior management that kept 'saving' the collection and finding ways of funding the retention of them.
Fortunately, by the end of the 1980's a realisation of the importance of the firms history meant they not only did something about the existing fleet but set about aquiring lots, and lots of aditions to the fleet, as well as adding important/significant cars straight from the production lines.

I've been very fortunate to drive a fair few of them. There are some proper classics in there and it's not always the obvious cars that are the most fun. That MK2 Cortina for example is surprising fun. Where as that yellow Cosworth isn't as much as you'd think.
I'll dig out some more later.
Have they still got the red promotional GT that's had 3 clutches? I'll dig out some more later.
