I would love that Rallye van as a daily.
One of the guys in my motor club back in the early 1980's had bought one of the old twin rear wheel ex-Boreham V6 Transit service barges, after they sold all the post-Escort stuff off and used it as his daily transport (as well as service barge for rallying)..... and later on in 1987, another guy in the club bought one of the ex-ARG Motorsport Rover V8 powered Sherpa service vans off of BL after Group B finished. It wasn't unknown for them to partake of service barge racing

Cars and Car Conversions (CCC) tested the 'works' service barges back in the day. A highly amusing article, and demonstrated how stupidly quick some of them really were. If I dig about in the loft, I probably (definitely!) still have the magazine. The Dealer Team Vauxhall Bedford CF won, IIRC; it was 'sorted' by Blydenstein and I can vouch that fully laden, it comprehensively outran the Fiat 128 3p that I had at the time......It wasn't unknown for them to partake of service barge racing

My grandad was telling me how he had a lotus cortina when my dad was small, this would have been early 60's, he paid £150 for it and only sold it because he blew the carb or something he was saying, sold it for £400 for parts I'll see if he has any pics!
I turned down the chance to buy a genuine MkII Cortina Savage for £180 in 1973, mint and almost unused. With the 3 litre V6 engine in a 2-door shell and Lotus running gear, these were converted by Geoff Uren and are now highly collectable.£180. I should be shagged with a raggy flue-brush for saying 'No'!

No it isn't, it's a replica.
People need to read the stuff under the pics.
A good replica though Slightly lower compression engine these days (because the old ones kept going pop) but still triple carbed with that, er interesting 3 speed column change.People need to read the stuff under the pics.
