Forget the 130TC, the one to have is the 125TC !
Er....why? The same car but with a single carb and no Recaros is not superior.

Big money for the old gal but she looks a corker. Treat it to some fettling of the twin cam with Guy Croft and 150 - 170 horses should be unleashed through those Pirellis !

wouldn't get me sensible insurance back then so had to settle for an 128 3P...
Made a heavenly noise to with the supersprint exhaust and hoermann would supply a quad carburettor which made the opec and you very happy.... KONI shocks a must too

Good thing I didn't have five grand spare.

Quite honestly I've never seen one before and I wasn't thought of when that was registered. But yes. Oh yes on so so many levels. Keep your Golf thanks.

Is that the pre-facelift one? They were better lookers!
No, the 125tc was never officially imported to the uk, they are all left hand drive.
Fiat chose to wait and bring out the facelifted superstrada 130tc instead.

I prefer the 105tc with the single headlights.

My mate Lee had a red one, can't remember the year but it was when the Big One opened at Blackpool, so early 90s I guess. One evening we went 4 up in the Abarth cruising at 90 to 110 on the M61/M6 and then maxed it on the M55 at just over 130! We then went back to Bolton at a steady 100, my main memory is of my pal desperately tryin to find a fuel station as the light came on as we left the M61. We worked out the gurgling webers had been supping juice a the rate of 10mpg! What a car though, by far the most exotic 80s hot hatch, the front seats even had harness slots!

Now your talking, HOT.

1982 Fiat Strada 105TC by Trigger's Retro Road Tests!, on Flickr

I love the styling of the 105 and the 130TC's, I past a 130TC last year on the A12 and it still looked fantastic.

I have this sat out the back of my factory, owned it for years but cant bring myself to scrapping it.
Its still pretty solid for an 80's fiat with only about 24k on the clock.

Cracker! I had a Mk2 105TC Grey and then a 130TC also in grey.
The 105TC would see off a Golf GTi no probs and was a great car.
The abarth had KNs on ram pipes, rejeted carbs and a supersprint exhaust (easy 150hp). It was really loud and went like stink
The abarth was really bad for rust though - hole on inside edge of A pillar?
At the time avanti tuning did a sprintex supercharged conversion for £2k.
I moved on to a 205 1.9 and found out what crap build quality really was!

A cracking car in it's day..!!
Back in sept 1988 bought a 3yr old red pre face lift 130 tc on a C Plate 1985 year..Cost me £4250
A snip at the time..!!
Like yours though suffered quite bad with corrosion and rust scabs..Especially around the door and boot locks..
Even the wheel arches had blisters..!!
Despite all of that it was a hoot to drive and apart from uprated brake pads kept it standard..
Sold it after 6 months for 5 grand..So had fun and made a small profit..

Loved these when they first came out, a real hoot to drive, race ready recaro seats, 2.0 twincam with 130 bhp in a hatch was amazing in 1984.

Rust was the problem we had a B reg red one that already had rust around the window frames/door locks at 3 yrs old.

Here is something for all you Fiat 130 TC fan's; in action in group N (showroom spec racing) It shows how good they were out the box on track (if you ignore the terminal understeer and lack of brakes!)

If you want to buy one the place to go is italy for a rust free example but they are not cheap now;

I had a grey 1986 130TC back in the early nighties..paid £4295 for it. Had 5 Turbos, 205 1.9's and endless Golf Gti's but this car was the one. Lethal on fuel but it was cheap back then !

Rusted away into an early grave though some years later....

Fantastic engine that I think was used in a lot of fast Lancias also, probably the only part of it left now !!

The fiat engines at that time were light years ahead of anything Ford had to offer. I also had a MirafioriSport with the 2.0twin cam that was light years ahaed of the RS2000 at the time.
Fiat made some great cars at that time including the 128 3p and the 127sport. Sadly the tin worm had its day in all of them until they built the Tipo and went fully galvanised.
