I've got an original sales brochure for one of these. Tried it on eBay and didn't get a single bid. The Ford RS stuff was going for £30 - £40 a pop... Is there a moral here somewhere?
Yes, in the UK people go crazy over crappy old Fords, the cars of their youth. In Italy, people go crazy for old Fiats/Lancias, home market cars.
A mate of mine in the RAF had one of these back in (coincidentally) 1988. Fantastic little car. We would regularly hoon around the streets of Edinburgh in it. With typical Italian "personality", the speedo didn't work - and not knowing what speed you were doing actually made it scarier.
Clarkson put the abarth 130tc at number 56 in his greatest 100 cars ever and auto express put the abarth 130tc at number 19 in the greatest ever hot hatchs .It was only 1 of 2 italian cars in the list the 20th being the alfa sud . Here is mine i use it for 6 months of the years . It covered less than 38000 miles and the engine is tuned to about 160bhp .Funny thing is i have seen the car on ebay two years ago on the a406 and he seen mine on the a406 a few months ago .
Thought you might like to see mine - I raced in 1995/96 in the Slick 50 Road saloons and the Autoitalia championships. I sold the car in 1998 and found it again on Ebay in 2006, I'm still restoring it to do some hillclimbs and sprints! it's taking time though as I keep having kids!!, anyway enjoy the pics, I love these cars..

By the shops at Reabrook - looked in great nick
Yep. Not too far from where I live, was probably on the way home. She should be back on the road in the next week or two. She was running the other day and all ready for the MOT - I hope!
She lives in a garage and ventures out on sunny days only. Can't imagine this car would ever have been any use as a daily driver but a lot of fun on a sunny day.
Hoping to be at Retro Mania show n shine in Weston Park with her this year. Was going to go last year but too wet for Italian cars!

I've got one of these. Elorabzione Colasuono prepared. 1988. Also a spare engine 12,000miles. It's in pretty good condition, garaged but not driven for 4 years. Anyone interested in it? Or does anyone know a good service outfit in Essex or East London?.
Elorabzione Colasuono: that was the tuner that my old car rolled into days after leaving the Fiat dealer when new as mentioned in my earlier post.I'm back here today, having had a long stint off, purely because I received a Road Tax refund on said car after selling it nearly 20 years ago!
Good old DVLA hey!!
