Should tell that to Mr RWB!
Now, you see, really you should've just left it at "Yes, you're right, it's horses for courses".

You reckon?

I just don't like to see these cars been given the OTT jap treatment and lauded as something amazing.

Tis my opinion, not unlike my clitoris.

I adore what JPN tuning shops do to high end cars especially these race inspired porkers.

Given what Fatboy drives.....
To be honest I would think that Mr RWB would probably agree with it being boring if everything was the same. After all no two cars he makes are the same. so...

Have a look at http://www.7tune.com/ They did a double feature on RWB a while ago.

Absolutely dream car perfection, only trouble is Porsche themselves did this sort of thing 35 years ago,as admirable machines displaying function over form, not the other way around!! Then went out and won LeMans, etc etc, not just pose outside nightclubs !!

Horses for courses but I love that - it's bonkers...

It looks like it took a wrong turn out of an endurance event about 15 years ago - what's not to love about that? smile

They look cool enough in a sort of "GT2 to the nth degree" way, but too bad none of the RWB cars have the power to match the looks.

If you look back through that previously mentioned Speedhundnters archive, you'll find none of Nakai-san's creations have anything more extreme than an exhaust system. They're based on Carreras as well, so no Turbo. At least Gemballa and the like, while OTT, have bonkers power to go with it.

Cool, but only good for posing.

It's odd that the reception on here is so positive to a man who takes a base model of a purists car, sticks an absurd bodykit on it and probably doesn't do it's usability in 9/10 situations any good. That said, I am completely and utterly sold on the idea. Number One looked great on Sunday, and I haven't seen pictures of any of them that don't look like wild homologation-spec nuttermobiles.

Is it me or is this guy just super cool!

This is why I love 911's. Epic in every way.

I think he gets away with it because they are seen as a homage to the classic race cars. The old wide body turbo of the '80 was all about extravagance so these cars are fitting.

His cars a 930T it said in the film, so pre 964 Turbo. Thats hardly base model..

Never seen Number One before...what's the story, was is built in japan and shipped over or built by him over here?

Still think Natty Dread is my favorite, but the Blue 964 with the duck tail is a close 2nd!

They are a lovely machine. Been in love with the Viper Green one that is in the film for a while (I know it's black and white before anyone states the obvious!), but came across this one today:

Stunning.

£85 million tonight isn't it?? Hmmm...
Bloody hell. Stunning.

Would much rather have something like that than the over worked (IMO) RWB stuff.
