I totally agree with Lucozade, I found that Grange in Exeter knew more about my car than works service ever did. Also Grange welcomed my custom rather than look down their nose at me as though I should feel lucky that they let me own one of their cars.
Back in 1973 my father purchased a brand new V8 and the works used to regularly service it. During the 20 months of ownership the car spent more time at Newport Pagnell than it did on the road havING various jobs done under warranty. He also found that he would end up losing his temper with them regularly because they were not very good at what they did and their attitude was so superior that he would end up blowing a gasket. After his experience he vowed never to own another Aston so when I said I was buying one he thought that I had lost all leave of my senses and told me that my pride and joy would end up being at Newport Pagnell more than at home.

Was he right yes he was up to a point, for the first four months I became so infuriated sending the car back for work only to get it back to find half of the problems unresolved plus a selection of new problems had erupted so two or three days later it would go back again. Eventually a friend of a friend told me they were useless and that I should take it Grange. Problems solved Grange 5 star my time with Aston is now complete for now as the car is currently being sold as business is slow. Would I have another Aston...DEFINETLY YES (probably an 1980's Vantage or a Vanquish) Works Service...definitely NO WAY.

Interesting stories! Perhaps they'd have been better demolishing the Works Service dept and keeping the factory...!

I'd have thought that their 'spiritual home' would be (just down the road from me) in Aston Clinton.
