what about the S50 and S52 engines, in the E36 M3s? Do they also have throttle delay?
Think you would get better answers in the BMW forum TBH.

You didn't make yourself very clear. Your original question was about which 6 Cyl engines have little or no throttle delay, you never mention what they may or may not be bolted to!

No delay on my old 525i, as mentioned above it's more about electronic throttles, ECUs, emissions controls and all sorts of modern bks. 2.5 KV6 in my ZT was quite good, but fails on the FWD test.

What on earth does placement of the engine have to do with how good it is?

My vote goes to the s54b32, from the e46 m3/csl/z4m. It is a much better engine than the modern i6 engines in every respect (except a marginal difference in fuel economy).
Engine technology is going backwards in many ways in the last few years.

I think the OP is asking which RWD 6 Cyl car has the best engine responce/least throttle delay!

Am I right OP?

I really need a track car that sounds close to that. Who cares if it's not the quickest on track, what a buzz! cloud9

But the drivetrain of a car has no effect on how good an engine is.

Best at what? Power? Noise? Reliability? etc, etc.

Can't include the Skline GTR's then if it's only RWD for example.
