Interesting. I'd have thought it won't be his as he lived in Staffordshire and bought the car locally, I think his Rover would have been older than that, my recollection is that he traded the Rover for a Sigma then bought the Lancer however I was only 6 years old at the time so my memories aren't the best.

Yep it's true these cars were quite quick , one of our mates had one ages ago at the same time I had my tuned ( mean machine) 1979 BMW e21 323i , we used race each other all the time lol, at pick up the lancer used to have me but at top end my Beemer used to go past it and it couldn't catch me, my other mates got about 5 of these and he's not letting go of any of them, bad ass cars would love to have one!
