Had this one turn up at work this morning. Looks like he got it a bit wrong somewhere on the way here. He reckons he had to brake for a car at the lights down the road from us but I'm not so sure.
Just goes to show the strength of a tautliners curtains though. About 450 kegs on there at about 50kgs per keg.The nearside curtains are bulging about 2feet out in places. Sorry for the crappy photos.

So basically, he hadn't secured his load satisfactorily?

Theres usually some internal curtains in the trailer to stop the load going forward but because it was "one drop" and a "straight load" it didn't look like these were used.Of course the driver may not of loaded it at all and just came in at 0400 this morning and brought the load on in.Apparently the same driver bought a "shot load" in last week aswell so I would think his driving is more to blame than the way it was loaded.
Also one of the 4 wheeler drivers that works out of the yard followed him in for several miles and said the curtain was bulging a long time before the traffic lights where the driver reckoned it happened (which he went straight through with no problems)
It only took him about 4.5 hrs and a bit of sweat to sort it all out by hand laugh instead of the 20 minutes or so it would of taken with a forklift.

Kegs on pallets is stupidity. They slide.
What they want to be on is locator boards.

That would have to be some serious braking to shoot kegs like that. The only time I,ve seen one bulging like that is when a knobber with a car full of teenage girls decided to park in the front of the wagon at speed.

Probably won't be long before he puts one on it's side , hopefully not killing anyone.

Having been a dreyman's mate I can say this is not unusual.

Easily done, there is no decent way to secure a load of kegs, lucky they weren't 22s they weigh 125Kg!
