We have a few cars to aim at, all old, not worht lots, softop for summer, quick hot hatch, diesel estate, even a 1970's sandrail!
But recently my "go anywhere car", a Rover BRM owned from new gave up the ghost at 130k miles and 12 years of having not a penny spent on it!
So after looking at various options, I went back on my "I wont ever buy another diesel" statement, that I made when I had to have a DMF on my mondeo, and have bought a completely mint 2005 Polo 1.4 TDI SE. Saw on ebay, had a "brief" vieweing a few hours before the end of the auction, and sorted a deal out at basically the opening bid price. Which is about £150 over trade price.

Just seemed a clean honest car, reportedly extremely frugal on the juice, and drove like a far bigger car, nice ride, very solid. And with the facelift front, in resale silver, it is a pretty if completely anonymous car, that will not stand out in the airport or hotel car park.

I'm quite looking forward to picking up the 80 throbbing horsepower beast tomorrow, but cant quite work out why as it will be the dullest car I have ever owned by some margin!
