£415pcm + VAT for a fookin electric city car? rofl

That really is rediculous. The 107 1.0 5dr is less than £90pcm + VAT. How (apart from obvious 'green credentials') are they expecting to shift any?

Surely i'm missing something here, right?

Before anyone asks, i'm looking at a city car for the wife, alright.biggrin

Off the top of my head they're about £30,000 to buy and the range is something like 110 miles.

Pfft! It's got the spirit of the Peugeot 205 GTi don't you know. It's in there, somewhere.

Yes, you have no idea just how much money some people are willing to p**s up the wall to prove their "green credentials"....

What really cracks me up is their use of the word 'just'.

Surely you'd have to go a very long way to use £300 of fuel per month in a 107?

I don't even get through that in a petrol Jag ffs!

Well, if you did 50 miles a day you would save £140 a month over a car that did 50mpg on petrol. If you also pay for congestion charge and central London parking, BIK tax etc, you could make back every penny of that extra monthly payment.

However, I'd rather ride a motorcycle if I had to go into the congestion charge zone every day!

so what your saying is that the petrol goes further for less. doesn't put you electricity bill through the roof and cost less?

Id love independent body to work out the total environment effect of building an electric car, and to run it. just to see how many miles a petrol would have to do before it damaged the environment more than the electric.
