Yes it is a large car. Shockingly large to be honest, as you've pointed out its wider than a 5 series...
When hooning with the GTR in tow it struggles on country roads as the following driver has on many occations pointed out "its too bloody wide for these roads" especially when overtaking.

Also, this only applies to roads where the GTR can actually fit !! I know many brilliant back roads where it would be seriously held back by its seriously large size compared to other "normal size" cars.

It's also a 10 inches shorter than a 5 series

The 09 to 11 evolutions are small tweaks and refinements. Litchfield will Stage-1 your '09/10 model to 560bhp for £1,000 and they will have available next year's 2012 model economy map too.
Not bad that. Not bad at all. Warranty still in valid?

It's nearly exactly the same width as a mondeo... your everyday family car... not a bloody bus

Mondeos are large though. You occasionally suck in breath in places even the not-incredibly-narrow Focus would have no issues. Look at a new one next to a Mk 1 and it's hilarious. It's also a 10 inches shorter than a 5 series

Limited supply, increased price new.
With the exception of the occasional dodgy early import, they are holding their value well.
Don't forget they were £65k in 09. At the moment good low mileage example is £40-£45. The increase prices of the new model should only help maintain values of the earlier cars. With the exception of the occasional dodgy early import, they are holding their value well.
Interesting.
I thought most owners of the gen 1 car would be bending over backwards to place deposits or px their old ones for the new ones.... Not only that but one would assume those looking to get a GTR hott off the shelf would now wait another month or two for the order books to open for the 12/13 model
Either way even in gen1 form the car is still outstanding. Hope I get to drive one in the near furture lol

Might be some good deals on the MY11 models with the updated GTR being out soon? Could tempt a few people to buy now.I thought owners most owner of the gen 1 car would be bending over backwards to place deposits or px their old ones for the new ones.... It's a sports car though... they tend to be shorter and wider. The porsche 997 is 73 inches wide for example
Don't think of the GTR as a 'sports car' myself.Compared to a 911 it had double the luggage capacity and a fair bit more space in the back seats.
Starting to really like the GT-R, MY2012 should be bang on the buck. Has everythng but looks and could outrun anything with built quality and some level of comfort to spare being that it has 4wd and two clutch. Easy to use, all weather and ultra rapid come wanting. 2+2 and a decent boot, this car is technically unbeatable if we could spare change for its fuel consumption and tyre cost..it completely exposes all those posers and thats the best part.
