I have an Arctic Silver 996 which I love (and an Arctic Silver Boxster before that) but met a guy with a Polar Silver car a few weeks ago. Must say that the blue tint does make it look a bit special... IMHO

John,

Nice one - i too bought my first porsche from Clive (Mr911), and it was a 993 Carrera too (blue with grey interior and A/C). Enjoy it, should be trouble free experience knowing Clive.

My wife regrets me selling it since...it was our first Porsche and it is not forgotten...she wishes we never sold it. Since then Clive has supplied us with numerous superbe cars (993 turbo X50, Range Rover Supercharged, 360 modena and now white 997.1 GT3RS/black 1988 SL300).
It didnt have ac ;-) but is still in good hands mate, showing up the younger siblings in the below pic...

Been looking at the possibilities of a 996 for the last couple of months, why do I now find myself looking at 993's in the classifieds ?

993 is always going to be a wise investment and a great drivers tool. Obviously newer cars will be faster but the 993's are great fun cars and built to last. Well done on your purchase.

Dude
You don't need a van to transport a bike in a 911. I do all the time: Take the wheels and seat off (that lot goes into the front (mind you I'm in a 3.2 carrera with a fairly regular shaped loadspace up front) then fold the seats foward, wrap the frame in an old sheet to prevent the countryside getting everywhere) then wiggle it in. Dropouts I usually get in towards one of the rear quarterlights. Try doing THAT in a Ferrari

There's something quite delicious about the lower edge of the bootlid which I just can't put my finger on.

A nice, standard C2 could concevably be a car to run for a lifetime

That must be it ! Beauty . Great low stance . Always got plenty of looks and real torquey engine . I would've kept it but wanted to 'invest' deeper .

Sargeants sold it to owner in Chester area I was told and it again went to Ninemeister for service . Don't know if it's got same no. plate I had .
