Worst loss on a car
Discussion
Just thought as we are all car nuts here , it would be interesting to see what car dropped the most in the shortest time in your ownership.
for me joint Boxster S 2011 and Jag XK8 2000 both lost about £9k in 3 months
Ps just remembered had a brand new ML 320 CI pile of crap rattles bits falling off, brought for £36k sold after 3 months for £24500

Worst was probably a nearly new Rover 25 - £7 grand I think I got £2.5 or maybe £3k 2 or 3 years later. Not that bad really, but I did majorly get my leg lifted when I bought it!
My dad lost thousands on a Disco 1 that was a hateful piece of crap and he discovered he didn't like it after a few months.

(Worst I've got loads of dosh to throw at cars thread ever)
This one seems pretty bad for a car many perceive as one that keeps it's value:
I'd feel violated after that.

Well we traded in our JCW 2010 which we bought for £26K for £15K with a dealer so I would double check what a dealer is actually prepared to offer you on a Cooper S.
Wow! £11k in a year?.I'd feel violated after that.
I had four on the trot...
New 535d M Sport in May 2007 - bought for £42K sold six months later for £33K.
Then bought a new X5 in Nov 2007 - bought for £47K, sold six months later for £42K.
Then bought an 05 320d SE for £15K, sold the following month for £13K
Then bought a three year old 535d M Sport for £23K. Drove it for a year, sold it for £17K.
Not proud of any of that....

It's completely voluntary. This thread has just reminded me why I stopped buying new or nearly-new cars.
Same here, I hate to think how much money I have give away, mostly to Sytner garages, because that's who I end up buying from, not sure why, these days , for my daily car I buy 3-5 year old good history low owners and pay about a 1/3 of what I used too. I am a bit ashamed of how much I have lost really, in the region of ££300k in 15 years +'Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
