As daemon has said many times PCP can be a good way to "own" cars!

But what he meant was it can be a very expensive way to rent cars! wink
That in some cases ends up being cheaper than buying with cash.

My old man had an x type 3.0, top spec for £32k, sold it 3 years later for £4,200 (to me-matched dealer offer)
As a percentage lost, that's got to be up there.....

I'm guessing he didn't change for another X Type!

£4.5k in 6 weeks on a hilux a few years ago.
surely you could have waited for the right buyer though? or was there something wrong with it?

it had one of the dodgy 2.4TD engines that have a habit of letting go (i wasnt aware of the issue at the time) it went pop on the a303 near stone henge and that was it. picked up by a garage - got a huge repair bill i couldnt afford so never saw it again. the £4.5k was the total cost of the car. frown

i was young and stupid - stretched myself to buy the car and then couldnt afford to fix it.
