Must say I did not detect that, all seems quite playful banter, the usual PistonHeads stuff
Yep, I didn't detect that either.. People are being pretty polite on this thread.

(And considering how ugly that ST is at the front, that's impressive) - biggrin

I actually want to see this.
The Minder remake was a bit of a let down.

Can I say it's a gupping monstrosity of coelacanth ugliness, safe in the knowledge I own two modern Fords or does my crappy Mk 3 Golf disqualify me?

Why? Just treat yourself to the original box set biggrin

I did that three years ago and watched them all over the next few months - Stood the test of time remarkably well.

Well one thing they WILL be able to do is have baddies driving around in S type Jaguars, as they seem to be cheap now. This should provide a nod to the old series.
The only problem is that the S type R will probably trounce the Fiesta so they will have to call upon helicopter surveilance and back up Fiestas!

I like your thinking. If I was Mr MG I'd be banging on the producers door tongue out

I'm actually quite happy about this and think it's a great car match (although I have one so I may be a little biased). Having grown up in the seventies, I have fond memories of The Sweaney, The Professionals etc. From a car point of view, times change and so do vehicles. We no longer buy large, underpowered sallons in much the same way that we no longer wear Old Spice aftershave or nylon pants.

Will the Sweeny be shown smoking/spending hours in the pub before going to work?

Waking up next to some bird, realising they are late and rushing into work in the same clothes without a shower to do another days hard work.

Can't see Ben Drew doing that, he probably can't survive without some sort of hair product to make his hair look like he's just woken up.

Ps. I have no idea who he is anyway.

Wonder if theyre going to throw in the odd Impreza or Evo to see whether this new ST can keep up. Better than a Clarkson road test maybe??

Very underated programme which should have got a third series, I like Ray Winstone and have a feeling this will be a good "guilty pleasure" movie, The Focus will be the car Carter drives and Regan will probably be driven around in something RWD and Fruity, Jaguar XFR sounds like a good call.
