Have to agree with you on that, the same ones that love VW, because its German thinking its a premium brand when its not. I could understand them going for its Audi counterpart. But go other countries around the world and VW just does not carry that badge fictious premium it has in the UK, even by prices.

Absolutely the wrong show but the right period. Ford bunged lots of cars into the 70's and 80's TV cop shows. Anyone remember the special order blue S1 RS Turbo Escort in Cats Eyes, the XR3i Cab in Dempsey & Makepeace as well as the obvious Capri's and RS2000 in The Professionals.

I was aware Waterman only acted in The Sweeney, but Little Britain has propelled the myth that he writes and sings the themes to everything he is in.

I'm all for realism and from what I've seen around Brixton and surrounding areas I've seen undercover police drive around in various makes of 'company' cars. However, there are 2 occasions I clearly remember were the plain clothes police arrived in a unmarked 5 series BMW and a Lexus IS 200. The best one I've seen is when the police stopped a chap in a E36 M3 on the road and blocked him with their Audi S4 Avant.

Looking at the clip on youtube and the pictures from the Sun, with Jeremy Clarkson, the ST is seen chasing a red Jag XF-R. A nod to the original series.

Instead of the ST, how about the Vauxhall Insignia VXR or an Audi S4 Avant and not forgetting the WRX STI saloon....actually how about next years Audi RS4 which will only be availabe in Avant form.
