one of these would suit me quite well, but I sadly can't get over the bland 90s looks..

if only they still came in this body..

My pops used to have one of these when I was 14. Same colour. A couple of kids at School didn't believe me. One day my dad picked me up from School and had to stop at a set of lights on the way out. Those same couple of kids crossed in front of us and pops gave it some beans at the lights. The whole car shakes under hard revs. Kids jumped, I waved and smiled. Class moment.

p.s. Nice section of PH this. Good to read genuine enthusiasts stories. I can't but help chuckle out loud at some of the responses. The hat was asking for trouble.

A guy who used to work for my Dad had 1 of these. He chose it over the Mustang, with an LS1 I would've done the same thing. Probably rather have a WS TransAm, but these F body's look pretty good. 6 speed manual's are rare, but would be very cool!

Get down off your moral high horse, this is the internet you put up a picture of yourself you're open to ridicule... especially if your someone who has spent 4 years on a forum getting involved in every thread possible and slatting people..I'm sure he's a big boy and well able to take it.

I bought an m5 to replace my 4th gen camaro. took me a couple of weeks to realise what a big mistake I'd made, so I sold the M5.

Each to their own, but don't mock what you haven't tried.

To be fair you do have a point. A picture of someone in a Camaro wearing a cowboy hat is only gonna go one way on here..... smile

I'm sure he is-however the view from up here gives me a good sense of perspective and I realise it's probably odds on that the people commenting on his appearance probably shouldn't be throwing stones from their locations in glass houses.

I've never noticed him 'slatting'(sic) people either, possibly he's a little evangelical and enthusiastic but other than that I always thought he played the game...........and that despite him having opinions which were often the opposite of mine.

I think the thread should be about the car not the man. Still a lot of the internet cowards out there probably prefer to put the virtual boot in to assuage their impotence in the real world. biggrin

That's as may be, but let's keep clear of personal insults, and keep things on topic. We are talking about 300's choice of wheels, here.

(And a point of semantics - it's us who ask for the PHer mugshot for carpools, so although 300 willingly submitted it, he didn't exactly post it up himself).

Let's play nice, boys and girls.

I'm not having a go at him but let people have a bit of fun..calling someone a coward because they make a joke..you're the one blowing this completely out of proportion and making assumptions on peoples character...it's a funny photo and I'm sure when 300 gets here he'll have a chuckle

Got to agree. I don't think it's getting on a high horse at all.
Making cheap shots about someones appearance is personal and rather childish.
I think it's odd and rather fked up that folks get riled up and call each other names- when you make a judgement on their lifestyle (i.e living in a stty flat up north and getting drunk every weekend, driving a chav mobile etc) or their choice of chariot or their carry on, conduct and opinions but personal insults are fair game.
The above are choices and should be fair game to further scrutiny and piss taking!

Only someone who used to own a Jaguar would call the Camaro "reliable".

Had the reputation of the worst built car in America back in the 90's before they mercifully killed it and dismantled the manufacturing plant so no use would get the idea of reviving it...

oh wait the Transformers rebuilt it...

His Camaro (singular) seems to have been reliable, going by what he's written - Camaros in general may of course be a different matter...

I think you're confusing cheap build with reliability (like most Americans wink).
Old American cars are pretty robust and keep on going. They may squeak and rattle and have large expanses of plastic, big panel gaps but they ARE reliable. And yes, I know Americans (and I include Canadians in this wink) will harp on and on about old Jaguars and Lucas electronics to the point where they still think that a modern AJV8 Jag has Lucas electronics and overheats, but then the assumed paragon of American relaibility the Honda Accord is currently one of the worst rated cars on autobeef.com in terms of long term dependability. They also have cheap plasticy interiors and nasty trim.
