As has been said though, it would be ridiculous to be able to police it, and therefore nothing will change, those who can afford to can continue to treat disabled spaces as their own.
Again though its a very minor issue. Personally if i had that sort of money i'd just park on the double yellows 3 feet outside the shop (or wherever im going) if you're going to pay £60 you might as well go the whole hog. But then some would say that'd cause an on road obstruction and might even be worse than parking in a disabled space but blue badge holders can park on double yellows anyway so i dont think it'd be a problem.

I'd probably have the new XJ, 5 litre model, doesnt fit in car parks so it'd have to go on yellows smile

Reminds me of the story of a local (rich) man. His car got ticketed several times on double yellows whilst he chatted to a friend, each time the warden threatening him with another ticket. Eventually he said 'you'll run out of tickets before I run out of money'....

Maybe the owner of the Veyron has got a blue badge, but just forgot to display it. In which case he might appeal the fine and get off!

As for disabled people in sports cars, why not. I know someone who is geuinely disabled and had an adapted Suzuki GSX-R 750 and a BMW M3.

Disabled people can be wealthy and can be car nuts. It's not illegal.

My late Dad was refused a permit and really needed one. He was a real Pistonhead... bought and sold loads of old Fords. He worked 30 years for the NHS... he never parked in a disabled bay and used to still struggle along.

This guy has the money but no decency, even if I had millions I would respect the disabled, except for the ones that go around on motorised scooters... they can park at the back.

the comments are hilairous!

but at the end of the day if your not disabled dont park in them.

although it always make me chuckle when i see 'sports cars' in disabled spots. (with the badge)

so you can get into a car thats two inch of the floor but you cant walk an extra 20 meters?

come off it!
It's not always the distance though, it's the extra wide spaces. My mothers uncle had athritis, walking a bit extra for him wouldnt have been a problem but he needed to open the car door all the way just to be able to get in and out.

There is a disabled parking bay near to my office that often has a Porsche parked in it with a badge.
