Its ugly to many but to me its utterly brilliant
The aero 8 to me its brilliant to many its ugly
The alfa brera to me its a badly penned hatchback with a huge arse to many its an oil painting.
A Golf in resale grey almost no one thinks its ugly and even fewer think its a work of art its dull.
I'm not wishing to discuss the above it is merely to show a point that any car with a bold design is seen as ugly by someone.
So would you prefer the roads to have no cars that are considered as ugly by someone

No thanks. Ugly is better than boring, which tends to be the other option.
ETA: Oh and I agree with your assessment of all the cars you mention. I can't imagine how anyone can possibly find the Brera attractive, its proportions are awful; but then so are the 911's and almost everyone seems to like the looks of that.

Thing is, I was behind a new 1 Series in that exact colour in the other lane yesterday and though 'Actually that isn't bad'.
Maybe, just maybe, it's the one who released that picture as part of the original batch with the initial press release -the first glimpse that people will have of the new car - needs shooting...

I'd say the same about anyone who loves most of the cars that BMW churned out while Bangle was in charge. Some were quite nice; more weren't. 
I think there are very few cars that no-one likes.
I guess it's the Marmite thing with those BMW's. Most were controversial in the styling department but quickly grew on me.I think there are very few cars that no-one likes.
I've only read of one person who likes the (almost offensive) Nissan Joke though!
