Morning all,

After a bit of help, last night I bought myself a 2000 plate E39 520i, which seems to be perfect for smoking to work and back in, as I sit on the motorway all day. I got it cheap with a few little niggles, I'm fairly handy with the spanners so I'd rather get something I can tinker with and save a few quid.

Basically, is there anything like a Haynes manual or a workshop resource for the E39? If not, any really good owners forums? I had a 7 series a few years back and struggled to find a decent resource base for it tbh.

This weekend is all about changing a viscous coupling, and I might do the waterpump for the hell of it while I'm on. Be nice to have a guide to check through and make sure I get everything before I start!

Cheers smile

Probably the best E39 site on the web.

fantasic, that site looks brilliant, I'd never come across it before.

Bought a Haynes the other day as well, and changed my water pump to a metal impellor unit, and renewed the viscous coupling. All ready for winter now!
