Why can't we have a special "Manual transmission run-out special"?
Manual transmission was available on the 599 but as hardly anyone brought one it has been dropped.
Sure was. The California did until this year as well. The 2012 Cali is automated manual only. No 599 manuals purchased in the UK, but were in the US.
That's surprising considering most uk cars are "stick".

Given that the new FF has a button on the wheel marked 'pit lane limiter' I dont think we will be seeing a manual Ferrari for some time
We'll never see another, Ferrari announced a couple of years ago that they aren't making them anymore. Sad really.

I've always found it unusual - the E60 M5 was the same, you could get a manual in the US but over here it was the automated manual or ps off.

Maybe in the US the paddle shift autos aren't seen as sporty because everyone drives an auto - whereas here, most drive a manual so the paddle shift autos are seen as sporty. F1 probably has something to do with it as well.

Oh dear. I love Ferrari road and F1 cars, but this is very tacky. Sure they will sell quickly, but if I had the money I'd get normal one.

"The seats in the 599 GTB 60F1 are by Sabelt in the European version and Recaro in the American version, "

Why would this be? Are the Sabelt seats not approved for the US?
..might be a size thing whistle

Sorry but that is incorrect... there are a MINIMUM 2 manual RHD UK delivered 599's. I have seen them with my own eyes, even fitted a clutch to one of them.

The euro and US spec seats differ in weight, materials of construction and folding mechanism.

I imagine it is simply a cost issue, Recaro could build US spec seats cheaper than Sabelt, and Sabelt could produce Euro seats cheaper than Recaro. (That is my guess)

Fabulous car, I can't afford one but would buy if I could, anything to buy into the Maranello inner circle for me. Love the place, the brand and everything it stands for.

I am in a fortunate position of my office ajoining a ferrari service and restoration garage on a certain airfield in Surrey am get surrounded by 1960's 250pf, 275's, 330's etc etc

I know the 458 is a much nicer job from Ferrari but come on that thing is nasty. Please Ferrari go back to making cars as pretty as the Dino.

Love to see a pic of the 375 Gonzales edition.

Nice to see Ferrari making proper limited edition cars to appeal to their fans.

Are they actually Man Utd colours rather than Ferrari? wink
maybe.... they are kinda similar, Ferrari having finished with one win in the season and MU exiting the CL in the qualifying stages ....

There is a fine line with special editions like this between maximisation of profits and diluting the brand. This is the wrong side of that line....

Growing up I was the biggest Ferrari fan, but since the 360 era I've really lost faith!. Too much commercialism and lack of character in the cars, and too much brand merchandise has ruined it for me!. With the new Aventador I feel Lamborghini are following the same path :-(
