Tips for reducing windscreen condensation?
Discussion
Here's one I bought a couple of weeks ago for the same reason as you need it. It uses the same system as the crystal but the 'crystals' are in a solid block meaning that you can't spill them, it also has a spout with a plug so that you can pour the water out easily and it won't slop about inside the car. So far it's been completely successful, from having to run the car for ten minutes every morning to dry it out I now just get in and drive away - fantastic!
Best Tip I heard was to clean the window with cleaner, or even water vinegar mix. Then dry it all off with newspaper. The newspaper does a really good job of polishing and lifting all the oils from the screen.
This is assuming the interior is generally pretty dry to start with.
I did this on our Volvo V70 and have had no problems since. The visibilty is massively better as well.

That's the one, you can see little triangles where you missed mist up! I reckon alcohol wipes would be nearly as good.Shame really as the major plus point of this was it's ease of application - Rain-X, whilst excellent, is a proper PITA to put on.

Rain-X interior is rubbish and makes the problem far worse.
My Golf occasionally does this and I found the position of the cold/hot dial seemed to have an effect. I'm still not sure if leaving it on hot keeps out moist external air or whether allowing cool air to make the screen cold is best - oddly in the middle seems best.

What happens if you take the pollen filter out and run without it?
Better air flow than if you had one in there full of dead bird Are there any reasons why I shouldn't take it out then?

If you've got a pollen filter, make sure its a clean fresh one. A clean one combined with the aircon should clear it quick - if the filter is dirty it will block the incoming air and chuck out dirty air.
Also if its not been fitted properly it is possible for the housing to let water in an possibly cause your misting issue, or if its full of leaves etc this can block drainage pipes causing water ingress.I Cant remember if its behind the glovebox or behind a removable section of scuttle on the N/S on your year. Its well worth a check.
