Dealers providing their own warranty?
Discussion
Is it standard practice foe dealers to provid their own warranty and not one from a third party warranty specialist? The reason I ask is that ive been told by the independant dealer that warranty companies don't provide 3 month warranties. He was quite happy to quote for a 12 month warranty but at additional cost. Is it harder to make a claim if problems occur or does the law cover this sort of arrangement as long as its documented on the invoice?

You need to make your own judgement call on the quality of dealer you are dealing with!
If they seem honest, friendly and well established, it'd be reasonable to assume they would honour any issues that arise. If they seem surly, uncompromising and havent been around too long, you'd be a brave man to take them at their word.
