If I liked Audis and had £45k in my pocket I would be walking straight past this roller skate and into a new TTRS. Much that I hate the TT, when compared to this it starts to make a lot of sense.

These A1 are fugly stock, putting a halfords-esque wing on the back just make them worse.

Maybe they dont think their usual understated performance looks is the target A1 market = your an Audi driver but a bit chavvy!

So for a spec you'd realistically want it's going to be £40k, so this or a Sagaris?
I love a like-for-like comparison.
So do i lol biggrin

Hmm i have 40k to spend on a fun everyday car and i dont particularly want to have 5k in the bank for when the clutch/engine random parts of my car fail.... yer a TVR/Aston/ Fezza do make sense!!

Anyone in the UK who buys this car needs their head read.

Audis handle badly and have poor, vague steering.

Nearly £50,000 for an A1 with 4 wheel drive.

What else cold you buy for £50,000
Brand new golf diesel
Brand new brian james trailer
Brand new low range caterham 7

If your trying to be smart, its not going to end well. The A1 is one of the lighter cars in that class.

The A1 is pretty light for its class. 4WD will add weight though.

Shirley you mean nearly 35k for a 4wd A1??

Or were you just asuming it's got 15k worth of optional extras??

C'mon if your at least going to compare it to other cars you can buy for the price don't cheat and round it up to an over inflated price and compare it to cars that's not even in the same class/type.

Cayman S
Used Lotus evora S
Used new shape M3

I'm sure others can think of many brilliant cars that can be bought for £50,000 for a lot less that are ten times the car the A! is.

According to Google, it is Schwanjunge. Hmm. Not very original.

I'd only pay 35K for this Quattro A1

A 20v quattro can be bought now for £10k and witch some tlc see this thing off, and RS2 is £15k now and will do the job even easier with stock 315bhp and torsen split 4wd.

Obscenely expensive for a quick Polo. It's a pretty cool collectors car though.

Fair point, but I can't really see any potential A1 buyers going down the classic route instead?

Totally different markets IMO.

Also, can't see many choosing between the rapid A1 and a bogo polo...

Where does the £50k price come from? What options is it missing as standard? Chances are it will come with leather, nav and xenons etc standard not really sure what else people are expecting.
