RE: Audi A1 Quattro price
Discussion
So what else flashy can the young yuppy get themselves in that price range? £34-48k? I reckon something a bit nicer than an Audi....
E Class, 335i or Convertable Boxter perhaps...
(Basic prices mind, boxter from £29k, 335i £36k, E350cdi 37k)

Maybe the new boxster but the rest have been out for a while, so a range rover vogue ( poshed up freelander) would be the only new shiny competitor to get around town and even that can't compete with the rarity this thing will be alike to deliver whether it's relevant or anybody cares expect for car geeks like us?E Class, 335i or Convertable Boxter perhaps...

I'd love a tdi as a company car tbh with those wheels and a s line kit
The A1 is an awful looking thing. Quite why anyone would want one is beyond me. When you consider the more dynamically interactive and better looking competition available one can only assume that there are still enough overpaid estate agents out there who add them to their company car list.
Long live the recession!

If this is true it's just another example of Audi taking maximum advantage of their customers'loyalty to rip them off. 34k for a supermini!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since 2008 my wife has had a TT 3.2 Roadster(bought for 33k sold for 18), and an S3 Black Edition(bought for 31k, current value at 12 months old is about 23k) and has her eye on one of these S1's.
She wouldn't even consider another brand after the appalling mini cooper s she had before the TT and the equally rubbish peugeots and fords before that.
I think the LHD issue might be a deal-breaker, though - so that should save me a few grand!

(don't worry about my meat and 2 veg, we can get that sorted...)
Nice one..............merry christmas
there not an awfull looking car atall, quite the opposite imo, the oh has the tdi version, awesome little car.
i think it looks great, so would an RS1, but yes it isnt cheap and yes LHD will be an issue... i work for bmw/mini and we have people spending 35K on JCW mini's so its hardly an uncommon ammount for people to spend on a hot hatch...
oh and please stop comparing to "what you could buy" used, its not comparible.. people wanting a super mini arent interested in a 3year old m3/5, id also take this opportunity to point out running costs..... but neither is comparing this A1 to a 1series... thats what the A3 is meant to be competing with..

The A1 is a fantastic day to day town car.Long live the recession!
I'm glad its not a eurobox or some horrid retro-nonsense.
Anyone in the UK who buys this car needs their head read.
Audis handle badly and have poor, vague steering.
Nearly £50,000 for an A1 with 4 wheel drive.
What else cold you buy for £50,000
Cayman S
Used Lotus evora S
Used new shape M3
I'm sure others can think of many brilliant cars that can be bought for £50,000 for a lot less that are ten times the car the A! is.
