That's dangerously close to automotive perfection that is...

particularly apt as 2012 is the 50th anniversary of the A110.

Just wish I'd bought one when they were £10K instead of today's prices - though you can say that about a lot of cars at the mo so I won't dwell on it!

If anyone is going to the LeMans Classic this year, there is a special gathering being planned...

From the Renaultsport site:

"The 6th Le Mans Classic will be held on 6th, 7th and 8th July 2012. Renault Classic will again be present at this gathering of enthusiasts, taking part in the race with, for the first time, three cars – the A442 B, the M65 and an A110 1300 – whilst setting up a Renault Club enclosure which this year will be dedicated to celebrating the birthday of the Alpine Renault A110.

We would like to invite all A110 owners to join us for this special event, where you will find the numerous activities that make it such a success, such as the Le Mans Heritage competition, the auction and the Little Big Mans kids' parade.

Register right now and join us from Friday 6th July in the Renault Club enclosure to take part in the Berlinette meeting, celebrating the 50th birthday of the flagship Alpine model.

A110 owners who want to attend can email Renaultsport@renault.co.uk for full details

All about the event...

• Dates:

6th, 7th and 8th July 2012.

Club zone entry available to collectors beginning on Friday 6th July from 2 p.m.

• Location:

Le Mans, circuit des 24 heures du Mans 72100 LE MANS – 00 33 2 43 50 24 24.

At the risk of sounding like an Alpine fanboy, my GTA (ok, not nearly as cool as a 110, but much more useable, and stupidly cheap to buy and run) was absolutely brilliant in the snow last winter, when my BMW was undriveable. I even had to turn the heater down because my toes were singeing.....

Terrible things, these old French cars...

Fab cars, went in an A110 at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power in the rain and it was so much fan driving in the muddy fields.

Not quite the same but here is my A610 after a nice drive on the Evo triangle in some snow. :-)

Great looking car, would love to see one again. This is my fave Alpine pic, not taken by me i'm afraid.

Love the little A110 - spent all my christmas money on a "collectors edition" die-cast model when I was about 9 years old. Didn't really know much about Alpine then, but knew I loved it.
