So what happens if you go in your gas guzzling evil SUV during a busy period like, oh say Christmas, and there are lots of free spaces in the little car area, but you're not allowed to park there?

Are you seriously supposed to drive around and around the car park searching for a space whilst spaces sit empty waiting for a little car to turn up?
I'm guessing it's not legally enforceable, so a non-starter anyway.

What a stupid idea, now the anti-earth gas guzzlers will have to circle the car park for hours looking for a space. actually I cant afford to shop at asda now because of all the RFL and fuel duty I am paying for said fuel guzzler.

Why don't they put the green spaces next to the organic range, the parent n child near the nappies and a main entrance for their other, apparently unvalued, customers.

Incidentally they could look at your tax disc to work out if you're eligible to use the spot, but whether the majority of the general public would know their own tax band is another matter (unless they are the type to bring it up at every opportunity)

Perhaps go to the store and ask them how they heat and light their store and have all their goods produced and delivered...........

surely the most gas guzzling cars should park closer because making them travel to a further car park will mean more emissions are emitted into the atmosphere thereby rendering the whole exercise pointless.

Distance to drive to the front door > Distance to just enter the parking area.

Cool, I'm not that drunk after all. Thought I was losing it. Us SW PHers need to stick together (even if you are a Northerner!!!!).

I've seen signs like this over in the USA, but specifically for 'Hybrid' cars rather than anything emmisions based.

Of course, the easy answer is just to drop the Mrs off at the shops and pick her up once she's finished smile

Its crap, I did 1500 miles in my car last year, cycled more than that and now I cant park in a spot because of the emissions but someone in a diesel Polo that does 40k a year can. My car is nine years old and in good order but someone who buys a new one every 18 months and ruins it can still park there,

I personally wont shop at Asda because on this, we are already persecuted enough, I may order a delivery from them and get the driver to park a mile away as I have set up a zone where he cant park his high emissions van.

Anyway, Asda is a bit manky anyway, some of the stuff is ok but generally shopping there is depressing.
