Found a dead prostitute in the boot of my rover 400.

Funnily enough, it only had one owner.

Me.

I also read the manual on the first evening of purchase. I like to know what i have.
Essential bog reading material
I'm so sad I try and download a PDF of the manual for cars I'm thinking about buying.

I found £10 in the secret compartment on my s2000 - how long had it been there?

Had a hire car for the missus, an 11plate VW Polo. she drove it a while before needing to refuel it, at the petrol station we both couldn't work out how to open the fuel filler cap! There's us in the middle of a busy Morrisons petrol station at the pump flapping about how the hell it opens. It had no keyholeon it, nor was there any lever to pop it and it didn't just pull open like the rest of our cars did. Much flapping later, turns out you simply push it in the pop it open! Doh!

In my old Corrado G60, I'd read on the forums about people cleaning their rear spoiler by extending it out using the 'service button'. Took me a good 6months to find the switch for it simply located just under the steering wheel panel to the right of it.

Oh and cleaning out my pug 306hdi the other day, I emptied out the front seat pockets that are on the back of the seats. Found 3p, 2 biro Pena and a receipt for 4 Peugeot mudflaps and labour charge from August 2000 when it was new. Lol.

Emergency petrol money probably - previous owner might have just forgotten.

She must have been new to the game and obviously not very good.

A keyring with 'Emma' written on it and a couple of pens in my first car. Dad's car came complete with a Daniel O'Donnell CD in the changer.

There is a compartment in my current car which took me 18 months of ownership to discover, and another one which even the dealer hadn't found as it was filthy inside - made me wonder what sort of a state the rest of the car was in when it came in... scratchchin

Funnily enough I was rummaging through the boot of my Pajero today to check the tank filter when I found a ball bearing, not unusual I thought as I was wondering if one of the seatbelts in the rear had broken and spilt itself everywhere when I looked a little closer and saw two dents on the ball opposite each other, yes I had found the ball from someones manky body piercing! My hands were covered in veg oil and diesel but when I realised what I had, all of a sudden they felt dirty!

The fuel filler cap on a Volvo XC90 doesn't lock immediately when you lock the doors, but does so after about 10 minutes. This is so one can lock the car when filling up apparently. I found this out after complaining to dealer that it wasn't working correctly. RTFM in future I suppose!
lol...I called the dealer with the same issue when we first got ours!
Then you both had lazy salespeople as that's part of the Approved Used handover process (assuming you bought them from main dealers).

Discovered from a thread on here that when you push the wiper stalk forwards on a Mk.1 MX-5 it does a sweep of the screen without washing! Had the car over 4 years at that time!

(Manual is in Japanese!)

Found some cannabis resin (about £5 worth) behind the pop off rubber Renault badge thingy in the middle of my old 5 GT Turbo's steering wheel.

Oh and also some home made DIY boost mod (the adjuster had broke, was just a small hole near the gear stick surround) after taking the gear stick surround off i found some copper pipes leading to the engine bay. So the previous owner was a stoned plumber. The turbo gave way before i had chance to fiddle with the broken adjuster. True story that.

A Huddersfield University parking permit discovered just a couple of weeks ago, along with a couple of hair bobbles, complete with blonde hair. One of the previous owners must have liked younger birds.

Overspray on the shockers from when the dealer had resprayed the wheels without removing them.

I had overspray on the car on my most recent purchase! Luckily a claybar got it off.
