Gulp, I like that, a lot. My only issue with it would be it mentions a service history with stamps, it doesn't say it is a FSH, the way it's worded looks like it's been avoided rather than missed out.EDITReading again it could just be the wording,

I'd have to agree with Zwolf. I made several mistakes buying my first barge. I had seen another barge previously, but it was a Lexus LS400, so the Audi I bought was the first A8 I had seen. The second mistake I made was the old "I've come this far", so I went ahead and bought it - if it was around the corner from me, I would have left it.
Then again, I paid only 4 - 5% of the cars original value. Despite the fact that it has far more niggles than the advert suggested, they are mostly just that - niggles. The car still goes and sounds great, and I would never have owned one otherwise. The most I stand to lose on the car (i.e. scrap value) is 25% of what I have lost in depreciation on my Saab in one year, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if the Bork Fairy came to visit.
I was overly keen to get into my first proper barge, but now I have it I can follow Zwolf and start searching for a new one with no pressure. Having followed this thread, I now hanker after a W12 A8 - need to wait until they drop a lot closer to the territory of this thread...
We need a barge smiley
My experience was quite the opposite, I had been looking around for a barge, test drove a few 7's, and the tried one A8, and bought it. I pretty much made my mind up on the good condition, all the big bit's done correctly, that I would buy it. You can get lucky on your first one that you drive. My only issue as getting the bloody thing out of canary Wharf, what a nightmare drive, new car, fuel light came on, humungus traffic jam, sat nav decides to pack up !Then again, I paid only 4 - 5% of the cars original value. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions, but the only real job seems to be an up to date disc for the nav, and maybe whether it has an Aux in I can use for an iPod?
This week is going to drag a LOT...
Congrats on the 540, it looks very nice indeed. I'm in the same boat as you WRT the nav (I think mine has a 2008 version in it) and the aux situation. This week is going to drag a LOT...
I actually just bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220918799757?ssPageName=... and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110804693549?ssPageName=... for some digital radio action, but I also want to use my iPod in the car too.

Can I claim similar? Not a BMW, but I'm fairly sure still counts as a barge;A Svensk pråm
2002 9-5 Aero HOT wagon. 89K. 250bhp petrol turbo. Lots of heated dead cow, lots of toys, appears pretty well screwed together, drives well. Lots of left-field appeal.
No Dame Edna chrome.
2500 of your British pounds.
My thanks to all the contributors on all three instalments of this thread for their sage advice and entertainment. I shall continue watching with interest.

On my travels yesterday, I also had a look at this Spanish E46 328i Touring:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2011...
The chap who was selling it was a gent, and an obvious enthusiast. Whilst it might not have been the most minty of minty fresh cars, the condition was by no means shabby. If I hadn't found what I did, there is a good chance I would have been going back to pick it up.
If this is the sort thing you're after, it would be worth your time to look at it. The service history is all in a lever arch file, in document wallets. The seller is a really good guy, so I felt bad not buying it from him.
