thumbup A big mound of want for that.
Definitely. Superb bit of kit
It does look rather lovely.

The mechanicals are pretty straightforward, so if the roof works and is in good condition, it should be ok. What it won't be is fast, as its only got the 12V engine with all of 190bhp. Best look out for a 500 or 600 for the full SL experience!

May go take a look at this next weekend. Though if it's done a genuine 65k miles there may be some proverbial headwear consumption...

how does this look?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-FM-Transmitter-Univ...

not worried about charging since i get a good 16-20 hours of playback on my unit but looks like it should do the job, yes?

and these generally offer better sound quality than the tape adapters? if so, i'll order one tomorrow morning.
hmmm....depending how long the cable is i wonder where i could route it so i have the player near by without cables running all over the place scratchchin

thanks again chaps!

Looks similar - this is mine:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/griffin-trip-auto-/17076...

One thing to consider (or at least I considered) was I use my iPhone as a Satnav as well. It drains battery big time so for me to have the charger incorporated is a big plus. Also I have it mounted on a vent mount in the 7 and a window sucker in my MX5 - both in my lower eyeline. In both situations to have a 3.5mm wire coming out of the top of the iPhone would be pretty unsightly, and in the case of using Nav I'd have two wires coming out of it. So to have an all in one charging/sound solution on the underside of the phone makes it much neater in the car.

To get it gone, and that's what they seem to have been going for on eBay. If you want it, get it bought!

I don't want it!!! My point was you'd probably get 300 driving it into a scrappy yourself, thus avoiding the tiresome requirement of interacting with the inevitable type of pondlife who are in the Market for a £300 car! wink

Don't be fooled, this is all part of his devious negotiating tactics, he is trying to get you down to £250, a tank of Petrol and a shiatsu foot massage. Hold out, you might get the full £300 biggrin

cheers for the link; i don't have an ipod or iphone so sadly wouldn't work for me. as said, i'm not too fussed about battery as i get a good 16+ hours out of mine so the only cable would be the 3.5 jack cable.

they do offer better sound quality than the tape converters then?

thanks HR.

He could well be one of the two people who emailed me asking if I'd take £250 for it (mate).

I required as eloquently as I could, I'm no Deristrictor, but I tried.

If all else fails, I will just drive it to a scrappy. The last time I did that I got £50 for a Megane with a knackered head gasket. I had to stop halfway to let it cool back down. smile

my mate got £210 for a good-for-the-scrappy 1990 190e 2.0. ironically, he advertised it for sale for £200 and he had no takers, i told him he may get that from the scrappy and he did.

nice enough car, st example though.

The sure fire way to make another profit would be another W140, especially as I now know what buyers over here are looking for (chap who bought it wanted the cream interior and wheels) - however if I turn up with another W140 the Mrs. will certainly do her tits.

Therefore I think I may be heading in the direction of an E36 328 Touring.... however it all depends on whats available when I come back to the UK on Feb 14th.
So not only is the mrs going to be pissed you're buying another shed, she's going to be double pissed when she discovers you're abandonning her on Valentines Day to go shed shopping?

Smooth!

I would.
Does anyone here run one of those that could inform of its likely MPG figures?

I really would like to avoid a diesel if I can
