Not so long ago you couldn't get hold of Q5's, I bet Audi weren't 'doing' much back at that time...

An order now gets you one in March.

The new FFRR bun-fight will be amusing. We're quoting 2014 Q3 for delivery now.

Really??? Jesus that's mental.

I get annoyed if a lead time goes over 12 weeks tbh.

Different kettle of fish I suppose!

Those silly lead times always come crashing down who folk are asked to cash up though.

Get ooot ma showroom!
I remember over hearing the below (or words to the same effect) on a sales desk next to me. Usually a really calm and overly pleasant sales guy (the Senior Sales Exec actually), but this particular customer was going on-and-on-and-on in that hostile kind of negotiating that is almost rude.

the final straw:
"But, but you're really going to miss out on my business for £200? Go talk to your manager... The other dealership said they can do exactly the same car for £200 less"

response:
"Good for you Sir... don't waste your time here with me in that case! Let me call you a cab to take you there, but in the meantime please feel free to get out of my face and wait outside"

Not doubting you at all but there always seems a big difference between a deposit and c£80K.

I found that out with Vantage, F10 M5, to quote two.

Both to my advantage.

I may have misunderstood. Do you have an order that you can't place?

We're a big Range Rover dealer.

We started weeding out the fantasists as soon as the prices were announced.

TBH with it starting at £72k it's good value.

Our commercial guy is a very straight talking northerner and said similar to someone a few weeks ago.

The customer then said 'I think you're a liar, you can do the discount' to which my colleague stood up, said 'we're done here, leave, now' and frog marched him out the door rofl

We were all cringing but our SM and Sales Director were howling with laughter.

LR have not issued the build allocations yet.

It depends on your territory size and historic FFRR performance as to your allocation.

We'll see, of course.

I want one but really don't expect to be waiting 2 years from now to get one.

My favourite was my colleague Tony when I was at Nissan. Lovely bloke, oldish, bit deaf acted dull (but wasn't). Customer wants more off than is doable, Tony (shuffling and stacking papers in newsreader signing off style) "ah well, if you can't afford it.... " smile
