Ferrari F355 Vs Nissan GTR

If that's the case, the big Nissan will be a poor substitute imo.
For what it's worth, the Nissan does nothing for me personally. Sure, it's reputedly a very capable machine, but I get the impression that the Ferrari has a bit more of a sense of occasion. Oh, and let's not forget, the F355 is utterly stunning (especially in TDF Blue).

F355.
Not going to depreciate and an amazing feeling every time you get into the drivers seat.
The GTR will be mind blowing but i expect you'll have to drive it very hard to get the same satisfaction from it that the 355 will provide from even catching a glimpse of it sat on your driveway.
My dream car BTW!
Plus despite being a Nissan i think running costs won't be a million miles behind the 355.

I own a Nissan (not GTR) so may be biased towards them, but I've always loved ferraris. Either car would be awesome, but what you looking to get out of the car? Wknds only?
The GTR will be infinitely more reliable and you'd be able to use as a daily driver if you wanted. The Ferrari I suspect would have to be a wknd/summer toy.
I think it's every petrol heads dream to have a Ferrari one day. Perhaps go for that, but I think you'd be better off using it wknds only. My boss has one and on his trip across Europe he loved the engine etc but there were parts of the interior falling off etc.

Forget all this rubbish about it 'being a Nissan'. Any car that can lap the Nurburgring in seven and a half minutes is never going to be cheap to service!Plus despite being a Nissan i think running costs won't be a million miles behind the 355.
Further to that, I suspect Skyline servicing isn't cheap either.

Been looking into my first Supercar, but cant make up my mind.
Always loved the F355, now older are alot cheaper.
Then theres the spaceage GTR,but is only availble in semi auto.
They are both around the same price, apart from servicing.
The ferrari's a dream, but hassle, were as the GTR is modern, but still a nissan.
Your thoughts please???
Cheers
You've said it. One is a dream, the other is a Nissan. May be a far better car but it will never have class. And if you buy one you'll still hanker after a Ferrari.Always loved the F355, now older are alot cheaper.

I agree and that was the point I was trying to make.Further to that, I suspect Skyline servicing isn't cheap either.
The 355 is notoriously expensive to maintain (say compared to a 360) and the GTR is beginning to go the same way. It'll get worse once they're out of warranty and people actually start whinging about the cost of replacement parts etc.
More complicated bits = bigger bills IMO.
Off to the classifieds for my daily 355 fix...
the F355 is special, simple as that! My example is that a close friend of mine has an f355 and I've been in it several times, my current and previous car (tuned 996tt and tuned sl55) are definitely faster (we've tested this )
but neither of mine are anywhere near as much fun. The feeling down the back of your spine when you nail the throttle in second gear and the sound
add to this that its one of the best-looking cars in history (some say the best),
I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the capital and a few grand spare for maintenance etc,
