On a used market you can see the lower spec models just sitting around not shifting at all - people expect the equipment to match the badge on the car and a Porsche costing £45k+ without leather as standard is a joke.
To be fair, that's just because people are asking too much for them - if I could get a scantily equipped Boxster for 5k less than a well equipped one, I'd buy the cheaper car. Pretty much anything will sell if priced right.

Personally, I'd be quite annoyed if leather was the only trim available because I'd rather have cloth seats in a sports car. It's grippier.

Guess so, but I'd be VERY surprised if the Cayman came like that, would ruin the lines a little I reckon....
If you want to see a really stupid looking shut-line, look at the front edge of the bonnet of the new 3-series.

On the 'leather' subject that is about the only 'luxury' item they do come with! The S model has 'partial leather' as standard. Which in any other car manufacturers speak is 'full leather'. Ie the seats and armrests are covered in leather. The 'full' leather option adds leather to the dashboard top etc. Which is nice, but possibly overkill...

'ere we go again... hehe

I'd argue the full leather option is essential to eliminate all the nasty plastic a bring the interior up to standard....

And I'd argue that covering a 21st century car's interior in dead cow is just so 1932.....

Leather - still the best, and always will be, as far as I'm concerned.

Now that looks really good, even better than the 911 imo.

Its cold in winter, hot in summer, slippery all year round and looks baggy after a couple of years. What's so good about it apart from bragging rights?

Do not agree. Lifts the cabin (plastic looks crap), and, if you know how to look after it, leather stays good for years. Absolutely nothing to do with bragging rights.

biggrin Indeed, can't remenber the last time I heard someone 'bragging' about a leather interior...

But a lot of people don't know how to properly care for leather (aggitate, feed etc).

Stonkingly gorgeous. And I've never thought that about any Porsche.

A great improvement over the last Boxster, in my opinion.

I have been waiting for this and will delay specing my car until it appears on the options list. My opc have not been able to find out anything so I guess nobody here will know much either.

As said previously it is there as an option on the German site but not others. confused

biggrin indeed, both are pretty now...in the early days itwas more easy, I'm not a cabrio fan and did not like the looks of the boxter so it would be the Cayman always....
but in this case they are both beautiful shaped (ofcorse the Cayman is a rendering for now)
now its more were you want it for...and or are you a big fan of topless driving ( no I not mean watching the ladies driving topless biggrin)
