I'm not so sure about its arse end. It would look so much cleaner without that spoiler, especially running through the lights, a shame. Can I re-vote to a 9/10?
That's exactly what I like about the new rear, its individual and not anything like a 911. I hope the Cayman has a different rear again too, but I doubt it will.

I think what we're witnessing here is Porsche being brave!

Porsche really have done an excellent job of the new Boxster. It's a lot more grown up and masculine than the previous iterations and the new interior is a huge leap forward. I imagine it will sell very well indeed.

Is that the reverse light mounted centrally in the spoiler? Looks like such an afterthought.

The more I look at it, the more unresolved the rear end styling appears. 987 (pre-facelift) was the best of looker imo.

Still, the rest of the specs sound promising...

Is it me, or does the front look like they crossed the old Boxster with a Mk3 MR2?
and the side vent ..

how much is the power adapter option so that you can power curling tongues and the dryer at the same time?

Could that not be a white lensed brake light? Or would that be breaking some regulation?

Either way, I don't think you could accuse Porsche designers of having afterthoughts. Especially with a car that sells in high numbers.

It already has a high level brake light at the top of the boot lid. I know that given it's a Porsche, it was probably planned and honed over several weeks to look like that, but it doesn't stop it looking like an afterthought (they did "design" the Panamera afterall hehe).

The rear looks fabulous. I suspect many potental 991 Cab owners will be really questioning whether they need 4 seats....

Back looks nice and it's different, so that should keep all the revolutionistas happy.

Can't really decide on the front, but it looks a bit less feminine. I'm guessing this means we now know what the front of the new Cayman will look like.

A new Porsche that looks like a slightly fatter old Porsche.

Anyone would think the company was related to Audi with its range of identical cars. Oh hang on...

Does it have the same fancy tight-looking roof as the 991 cab?

Looks very good. 40K or so less than the new 911 Cabriolet, it seems cheap too.
Good value, good looks(MR 2'ish), new lighter chassis, better fuel consumption. Not been a fan of the Boxter but thumbup
Bodes well for the new Cayman.

I quite like it, but it does look like a really well done bodykit on a doner car..... MR2 being the donor.

But I do like it.

Just realised that the edges of the spoiler that sit in the rear lights (well, they are part of the lights but you know what I mean) are the indicators. God that's so cool it hurts, and I mean that.

I really, really want this car now. Put it on the configurator today please Porsche!

I prefer the Gen 2, especially with sport design package on. But the interior on this model is the best ever.

Ah yes, silly of me to have missed that. It's certainly different. The Panamera doesn't exist in my household, doesn't help that there are two parked a couple of streets away from me, like two beached whales. The Boxster and the Cayman will be Porsche's way of apologizing I guess.

Very smart, will keep the Boxster at the top of the roadster sports car pile.

What he said. Dare I add it looks like good value for money as well in comparison to the new 911 cab.

It sure would seem so.

Possibly silly of me to say this: I suspect I'd want an 911 rather than a Cayman (no great logic on my part & no doubt this topic has been covered before) but if I wanted a Cab this new Boxster seems to hit the spot.

Yep, it does look great, although I wonder how short a time it will be when it just becomes familiar as a Boxster again.

I remember seeing the proto-type Boxster then being out of the country for a year and coming home then seeing one on the road for the first time, it blew me away as I had no idea they were even being made. hehe
