just sold the Cerbera, any ideas about which car i should get next, one that would compliment my Tvr Chimaera.
i am enjoying trying a few different cars at the moment. my car budget is about £20k, i have 3 cars plus a company smart car, well i had 3 cars lol. any suggestions on what i should try next to see if i can find another "keeper" to go with my Chim, and i dont mean a panzee lol, so sensible suggestions welcome, my budget would be £10,000 max,i dont want a scooby or skyline, so far my thoughts are, 350z, slk 55, boxster 3.2s.vrx, monaro, any suggestions, must be sub 6.0 seconds and a lot of fun

I think he means total car budget 20k, having a 10k Chim leaves 10k spare.

I second the 2003+ XJR. That would make a sublime garage!! And the good lady wife would like it too. My wife couldn't really understand why I got rid of mine to buy the Chim! Well, that's another story (couldn't then afford both Jaaaaaag and Chim) but I will definitely have another. Amazing value for a world class rocket luxury saloon. Look seriously at the option. Good luck!

3200 is a bit temperamental unless you are willing to put in good money to get a very sorted one. Don't be surprised by VERY large bills on these. The power delivery is savage biggrin

4200 is more placid and runs a detuned ferrari 4.2 but is a better balanced car, you need the 04 onwards cars (given the semi auto settings and suspension of the early 02/03 cars). Also the manuals are not the best on the 4200 and an 04 onwards auto is absolutely the best choice (but pushing into 16-18k for a nice one).

Lovely cars and looking out for a nice 4200 myself but expect the bills, I would say more so than the Cerbera.

My total budget is £20k which includes the chimaera which i wont be selling, which means the balance i have left is £10k, sorry for the confusion.
anyway i bought 3 new cars, alex Grays Scoobie which i sold, i didnt realise how good the impreza sti was!! but the decals were too much. i took chillimans advice and bought an 4.0 xjr which i am picking up tomorrow. i also went over to the dark side and bought a boxster 3.2 s. both the new cars are black with black leather interiors, the total came to just under my budget of £10k. hopefully i will have some pictures up over the weekend. the insurance wasnt bad either.

Sounds like an interesting combination, I've always fancied the XJR as a big and rapid cruiser though being a confirmed air-cooled 911 owner am not sure about the Boxster, though I'm sure you'll get oodles of fun out of it when the sun comes out, enjoy........

Nah. First figure is the real one. Second is what he's told his wife he's spending...

Go Caterfield with aeroscreen and you've got a choice of a couple of fun cars for when you're not sure if it's going to rain or not.

well i replaced the cerbera, with an Xjr and a boxster, both 72,000 miles and full main dealer service history and i was within my budget!! :-)

i collected the XJR today, what a car, i instantly felt home, great interior and driving position and lots of very usable power, although i used a gentle right foot as you could imagine.
Chilliman, i would def reccomend so far :-)i will update you by pm as week goes by
any comments guys?

When you have a chimaera the boxter seems a bit surplus to requirements. The jag is a beauty though.

I half agree but for purely superficial reasons i like having the two matching black cars.
I was thinking if I kept the boxster I could still have top down motoring and keep the chim for special times. The Porsche will be the daily driver because it's the most common and easily replaceable
