Bob Geldof & Paula Yates in an XR2 parked up in Crewkerne square with a map open on the roof - late 80's from vague memory.
Peter Gabriel in a big F off 7 series BMW in Reading services fuel station - 2002 ish.
A few years back, Craig Charles wafted past in an old brown Roller while I was walking my dog with the missus/old dear down a country lane a few miles outside Chard.

On the way back from a driving trip to Italy in 2004, we were on the M11 North and were approaching a light blue Bentley T1 reg TOY 111W.
I thought, 'I bloody recognise that Bentley and that plate from somewhere'.
As I passed it, there was James May in the drivers chair.
I recognised the car from when May did a little feature on it during his first season on TGTV

Ulrika Johnson in a yellow Saab near Beaconsfield. Scruffily dressed person standing next to a Ferrari on the hard shoulder of the M40 while some coppers explained the error of his ways, turned out to be Jay Kay.
A Rolls Royce Phantom with reg PC 3 frequently passes me on the thames embankment, anyone know who it is?

i was directly parallel to princess di driving a regular [to the eye anyway] dark grey 3 series in kensington circa 95 with one of the princes. it was 8pm and dark, in heavy traffic, no tints, glaringly obvious. big security-looking jag behind her. they turned down a street and pulled up outside a penguin books store/hq.
but my best was seeing orig williams, THE welsh wrestler, driving in the evo triangle area!
they are now both dead.

Did not know he had a Vanquish. I remember reading an article he wrote when "About a Boy" came out, he apparently had very little interest in cars, and the kid playing the boy spent the whole time they were making the film badgering him into buying something nice!
I knew Hugh when he had a Triumph Herald!! Rowan Atkinson getting into his Mclaren F1 outside the newsagents in Summertown. It was Goodwood FOS weekend, so we spoke about that and what he had been driving the previous day. I was heading down there the next day. I also used to see him driving around in his blue RR Phantom.
When I lived in Chipping Norton there were, of course, frequent sightings of JC blasting around in various machines. One notable occasion was when we met on a blind bend down the lanes, him in his turquoise XJR, me in my company Astra Merit. A quick, almost reflex-like swerve by each of us prevented the event from making the evening news. Another time was when he was following me to the M40 in the newly launched MINI Cooper S. He was desperate to get passed my company Avensis, but to no avail...
